What it is
Every aluminium profile is authored as a real cross-section in millimetres. The mesh, the kilograms per metre, the anodiser’s surface area, the cut list, the bill of materials and the quote are all solved from that drawing. Checked against published catalogue masses, the worst error is 2.4%.

How the glass make-up decides heat, light and noise
You pick the outer pane, its thickness, the cavity, the fill gas, the inner pane and whether that inner pane is laminated. Everything else is computed from those choices. Light transmission multiplies through both panes. The U-value comes from the series thermal resistance of the two panes and the cavity plus the surface films, with a correction applied when a soft coat faces the cavity. The acoustic rating comes from the mass law, with the coincidence dip pushed out by giving the two panes different thicknesses — worth two decibels in the model, which is why a matched pair is the weaker choice.
What falls out of a drawn cross-section
The enclosed area of the profile, multiplied by the density of aluminium, gives the kilograms per metre. The perimeter gives the anodiser's square metres per metre. Multiply the first by six and you have the weight of a bar. None of it is stored, so redrawing a section re-solves the mass, the finishing area, the bar weight and the bill of materials with it.
How many six-metre bars an opening actually needs
Nesting is solved across the whole opening rather than piece by piece, so an offcut long enough for the next cut is used before a new bar is opened. Take one window at 2400 by 1800 millimetres: two frame lengths at 2400 and two at 1800, then four vent pieces at 1780 and four at 1160. That comes to four bars, with 1,340 millimetres left over — 5.6 per cent.
What an almost-overhead sun does to a façade
On 21 June in Sharjah the sun sits almost straight overhead at midday. At that altitude a horizontal shade does nearly all the work and a vertical fin does nearly none — one fact that settles most of a façade before anything is drawn. The demo plots the altitude hour by hour from six in the morning to six in the evening, then puts whatever make-up you built onto that façade: the peak watts coming through the glass, and the tons of cooling needed to take them back out.

Common questions
Which glass make-up suits a Sharjah façade?
The lab solves the trade-off instead of handing you a rule. Of the six glasses offered, a reflective pane cuts solar heat gain hardest and a low-E soft coat comes close while letting far more daylight through; argon in the cavity lowers the U-value against plain air; and two panes of different thickness lift the acoustic rating. Whatever you build is scored against plain clear double glazing, so you can see what the upgrade is worth in cooling energy rather than take it on trust.
If we redraw a profile, does everything downstream change with it?
Yes, because none of it is stored. The mass per metre, the anodising area, the six-metre bar weight and the bill of materials are read back off the cross-section every time. Adding a profile means drawing it, not typing its numbers into a table.
Is this a running system or a demo?
Treat it as a demo. It was built for a Sharjah business doing sections and retail glass, and what it proves is the arithmetic — there is no stock file and no customer record behind it, and no live order book. Every figure on the screen is computed in your browser as you change the inputs.
Can you load our own profile library into it?
Yes. Each profile is authored as a cross-section, and the mass, the finishing area, the bar weight and the cut list follow from that drawing. How long it takes depends on how many profiles you have and how well they are documented, so we quote per project: a thirty-minute call, then one fixed figure in writing with its payment stages.
